Somebody To Love: Bachelor in Paradise – Beach Hut Tour

Sul Sul! This is Roxanna Llama-Llama reporting to you LIVE from the tropical island of Sulani. Yes! Yes! Paradise …”where palm trees sway.”* Oooh! I think that’s in a song! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be here! Of course, anyone who knows me, knows that I get excited about almost anything. Like, the time it snowed in Oasis Springs. Do you remember that? Oh, that was something else…when we had a freak blizzard and later found out it was some mad scientist who had invented a weather machine and turned Oasis Springs into a Test Center*.  I got my first Starlight Accolade Award for that investigative reporting. So it’s no wonder the producers picked “moi” to be the hostess for this show. If there’s anything going on, I, Roxanna Llama-Llama will give you the exclusive “scoop”. Everything about island life, the culture, the parties, who the Bachelor is having thoughts about, and which contestant is secretly hoarding the suntan lotion. You know, all the good stuff.

I also want to introduce you to Benny Fielding, who is our photographer extraordinaire. Benny is on loan to us from Clickbait Magazine and has photographed a lot of famous sims, such as Judith Ward, and even the queen bee herself, Bella Goth. Benny will cover all those behind-the-scenes shots. And let’s put it this way, he’s been known to climb a coconut tree or two to get the perfect photo.

I know…you’re looking at me and you’re probably asking yourself “Why are they here so early? All of the contestants haven’t even been chosen yet.” Oh, you’re the smart one in the family, I can tell. Yep, you’re right, contestants have until July 14th to submit. But the producers of the show wanted us to get to know a bit about Sulani and to give you a tour of the little beach hut that our Bachelor and the lovely contestants will be staying in. Hey, it’s their simoleons. Who am I to object to a few more days in paradise?

sulani map.png

So being the eager llama-llama go-getter that I am, I did some research and found out some fascinating facts about Sulani. There are three main areas. Ohan’Ali Town, at the bottom, is the main town, where Benny and I are staying, close to all the cultural happenings. Then there’s Mua Pel’am, in the upper right, a tropical island with hidden caves, waterfalls and the site of an active volcano. Oh my word, did I read that right? Yes, it’s like one of those lava cakes with chocolate spewing out but it’s not chocolate coming out of this volcano. We’re talking red hot fireballs! (Note to self: Research fire suits).  Lastly, Lani St. Taz, on the left, is an exclusive richy-richy neighborhood. And that is where The Bachelor’s beach hut is located.

Alrighty then, all set for a tour of The Bachelor in Paradise’s beach hut? We’ll just hop on a water taxi and zip right over there. But first, I need to change and get my “island” on.

Oh much better…

sulani paradise.png

Look at this place! It’s huge! Built on Sapphire Shores, this is a part sand and part-waterfront lot.

The front of the property.

And the back of the property. (Lot Traits are: Oceanic Paradise (can’t be changed), private dwelling and Sunny Aspect).

This is not a beach hut tour. This is a tour of paradise. Those producers are funny…“Roxanna, give them a tour of the little beach hut…” Little Beach Hut? This is a swank mansion on stilts!

“Benny, are you getting these shots? Benny? Oh, there you are. Oh, Benny! I see you got your “island” on, too….!”

Ok then, let’s get on with the tour. Right at the front, is a nice seating area. An outdoor “living room”, with lots of wicker couches, a gaming console, and an outdoor tv. There’s even a popcorn popper behind that tree. Movies under the stars, how romantic!

the kitchen and bar area.png

To the right, is the Mermaid’s Grotto* Kitchen Hut, bar, dance area, and fishing zone. And I see the traditional kava bowl near the bar. Oh, is someone planning a kava party? Did you know that when you have a kava party that the whole island of Sulani seems to know? Oh yes, kava! kava! kava! Drinking kava will reset your inner clock and get you in a more relaxed “island time” frame of mind.

kitchen hut.png

A closer look at the Mermaid’s Grotto Kitchen Hut. Oh, I spy a dishwasher! No dishpan hands for these girls! And I heard that there is an on-site chef who will create gourmet tropical delicacies morning, noon and night.

the skill hut revised.png

And to the left is the Sandcastle Skill Hut. Lots of things for everyone to do, from chess, painting, gaming. You name it, it’s here. And I guess having a hot tub near the Sandcastle Skill Hut is a good idea to work on your “charisma skill”. Surely none of our contestants want to be tongue-tied around our Bachelor.

inside the building.png

Inside the Sandcastle Skill Hut. Two computer stations because even in paradise you need to play video games, like Sims Forever. The Sandcastle Skill Hut will also be the place for challenges. The design team is ready to remodel for any skill challenge that comes up.

bathroom off skill room.png

Bathroom inside the Sandcastle Skill Hut. Just in case you get too much sand between your toes and want to freshen up. A more “rustic” choice is also available behind this hut.

bak of the skill hut.png

A small garden area and a clothesline to hang up all those wet beach towels.

behind seating area

Behind the “living room” area to the left is a music area to dance and maybe play some piano, guitar or violin. Or perhaps, serenade our bachelor by singing some songs. I can see a “partay” happening here!

pit barbq and view of kitchen area.png

To the right is a big pit of some sort, a bar-b-q, a casual table and a view of the dining area in the Mermaid’s Grotto Kitchen Hut. I can just tell that something delicious will be coming from that dirt pile.

down the walkway.png

From the “living room”, we head down a pier walkway to the bedrooms. There are two bedrooms on the left and two on the right. And aren’t those the cutest balloons you have ever seen?

two huts on the left.png

All the contestants will be sharing huts. But don’t worry, these huts are large with their own en-suite bathrooms.

the seafoam room.png

We head to the right first to the Blue Lagoon Hut. So beautifully decorated in blues and greens. And yes, all the contestants have single canopied beds. No hanky panky going on here. Elsewhere in paradise, maybe, but not here.

pineapple room.png

Right next door is the Tropical Sunset Hut. Done in oranges and yellows, it truly does remind you of a beautiful tropical sunset. This hut is a little larger and will house three contestants. Shower schedule posted on the bathroom door.

two on the right.png

Moving to the left, we see the final two huts.

hibiscus room.png

At the far left is the Heavenly Hibiscus Hut. Done in reds and browns, this hut is absolutely breathtaking. All of the huts have bookshelves and a chair or two for some quiet reading time.

ricks room.png

And smack dab in the middle of these huts is the Bachelor’s Hut. The only hut with a double bed and a whirlpool bathtub. It is tastefully decorated in a nautical theme. This room, is, of course, off-limits to the contestants. Socialize with our bachelor during the day, but let the poor guy get a good night’s sleep. There’s nothing worse than a bachelor falling asleep in the middle of a date when you’re on a roll telling funny stories about your 4th grade teacher. So, don’t let it happen. Let the guy sleep.

the sun zone.png

Continuing along the pier walkway on the right-hand side is a sunbathing area.

morning yoga and exercise zone.png

Now just because you’re in paradise doesn’t mean you have to neglect your fitness routine. What better way to greet the morning than with some yoga poses by the ocean?

the water toys.png

And finally, water floats, outrigger canoes, and aqua-zips! But maybe you just want to dive right in and swim in that crystal clear water. Show off that new skimpy bikini that you bought? Or perhaps go snorkeling. I’ve even heard that dolphins swim around these shores. Wouldn’t it be great if you saw one? You would be the life of the party with those dolphin tales.

and the view need i say more.png

But the best part of all is that THIS will be the beautiful view that you will see each and every day in paradise. A perfect setting for that “first kiss” with our bachelor. Oh yah!

cute roxanna.png

Wow! Some beach hut tour, huh? That beach hut is really an Oceanic Paradise. Those contestants are so lucky. What a fantastic location to fall in love. You know, I, Roxanna Llama-Llama, would have been a FAB contestant for this. I mean, I’m single, drop-dead gorgeous and so very, very, VERY talented. Problem is, I’m just not looking right now. Plus, if I were a contestant, who would be giving you all this magnificent reporting? Am I right? Exactly!

Our next report will be an exclusive interview with our bachelor, Rick Goengeter. Until then, Benny and I are heading to The Sand Bar in Ohan’Ali Town to chat with the locals. Wikki Wikki Wii from Sulani!

Author’s Notes:

*Test Center was a world available in The Sims On-line, where the developers would “test” new things, like jobs and pets, before they went live in the other on-line worlds.

Mermaid’s Grotto was a dive site in the Sims 3 Island Paradise.

“where palm trees sway” lyrics from Mele Kalikimaka (A Christmas song), Bing Crosby, 1950.

There are a lot of gorgeous new builds up on the gallery for Island Living. I had chosen another build before Island Living was released but when I placed it, some things were underwater, so I had to find another build. Luckily for me, this one suited the challenge perfectly. I did have to modify the build a bit to accommodate 8 sims, add some skill items, a bar, and replaced some bathroom and light fixtures because it was originally for an off-the-grid lot trait. Thanks to gothkittymimi for creating this build.
